How to fix condensation damp in the winter.

What does Winter and the Christmas/New Year period mean to you? Cosy nights in, good food, family and friends or is it the or is it the inconvenience of the cold weather, extra people and cooking bringing more unwanted damp and condensation into your home.

Condensation is caused by steam or water vapour coming into contact with cold surfaces such as walls, ceilings and windows, which will, if allowed to persist, result in mould on your interior surfaces and furnishings.

Causes: Cooking during the winter means lots of pots and pans bubbling away on the stove, releasing steam that will then turn into condensation. All those extra people when entertaining create additional warmth from indoors which when it hits the colder walls and windows, creates condensation. Steam from your lovely hot bath or shower after a cold day out will also turn into condensation. Drying clothes on the radiator or over the banister? Consider where all of the moisture goes – you guessed it, it’s running down your walls and turning into damp! And of course it's winter so we keep all the doors and windows closed because it's cold!

We can provide a whole-house solution to your damp problems, and you can say good-bye to condensation the same day.
